Deaf Diaspora: The Third Wave of Deaf Ministry
Bob Ayres, 2004
Deaf Diaspora describes the first two waves of Deaf ministry during the last forty years of the 20th Century and the defining traits of the Third Wave of Deaf Ministry as we enter the 21st Century. It provides a practical model for reaching the New Culture of Deafness for Jesus Christ.
Ayres calls for the rediscovery of the spiritual legacy of the DeafWorld as he proposes a definitive plan for the future. Each chapter concludes with a useful discussion guide for students or small groups. The Map: A Journey to Freedom (interpreted version with subtitles)
Produced by The Portland Fellowship
This DVD by Portland Fellowship is an adaptation of The Map CD-ROM. It has been enhanced with captioning and American Sign Language interpretation.
The Map DVD includes sixteen interactive questions and answers by several people including top ex-gay youth workers Jason Thompson (Director of Portland Fellowship in Portland, Oregon) and Alan Chambers (President of Exodus International, Florida). Mike Haley from Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs, CO, Christine Sneeringer and Victor Bowers from Florida, and six young men and women share their personal stories. Each testimony describes how God has helped them find freedom from their unwanted homosexuality.
